Hello Kitty 5th Birthday Party...LOTS of photos...

This party was a big hit and lots of fun!
I knew I wanted a Hello Kitty party for Vivi, but did not know what color scheme. I decided on Aqua, red, and hot pink. So I found an Etsy seller on
line who made a custom invitation for me, complete with a banner and cupcake picks.
I made a bunch of tissue poms for all over the place.

I put cool whip on cups of stawberries and displayed as cupcakes.
The weather was a torrential downpour the whole time, which did NOT bode well for photo lighting. I was disappointed in how a lot of my pictures turned out.

I put raspberry lemonade in little bottles with paper straws.

I set up a Party Favor Bar where the girls selected what they wanted to take home, and put them in handmade Hello Kitty bags.
They chose from:

Nail polish
Hello Kitty rings.
Little camera view finders that each had about 4 photos of hello kitty as you clicked through.
(The best part of course...the blue matched our decor)
Pastry erasers.
Coloring books and crayons.
Toothbrushes
And Pez dispensers, of course!

More party decor throughout the house:
The front door wreath and foyer arrangement.
The piano room.

The pinata I made.

The girls made Kitty visors. The girls colored posters to serve as a backdrop for a photo op.

Even Jasmine got in on it. Ha!
I did a game I called "Find the Kitty" where I stuffed these Hello Kitty "eggs" with candy and lip gloss rings. I hid the cats and then each girl ran around looking for one.
The girl whose cat also had a sticker won a Hello Kitty necklace/bracelet set.
It was a big hit.

We played Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty.
Vivi loved her cake.
I made "cat food" with Kix cereal and graham fish crackers.
It was really cute.

We played our final game, where I had the girls line up into teams and I told them that Hello Kitty is from Japan and there, one of her favorite foods is Sushi.
Each girl got a set of chopsticks and had to transfer sushi from the serving bowl to their team cat dish.
They did SO well even though thick felt pieces are not easy to scoop up with chopsticks.
The game was a great challenge for them. The winners each received a Hello Kitty stamper.
Here is Kitty waiting for her dinner. :)

Then it was pinata time. The weather continued to downpour, so we had to improvise and do an indoor pinata. Billy tried to stay out of the way as well as he could.

At the end, we opened gifts. Vivi loved all of her things saying "look, look, look!!" Here she is opening Squinkes that her girlfriends from Kansas sent her. She screamed when she opened this! Something she very much wanted.
Thank you to everyone who came and made our little girl's day special. She had a wonderful time and a one of our little guests at the party said, "I want a Hello Kitty birthday party!!!"

THAT is the ultimate compliment. :)

Sweet! This girl is fortunate to be having a ‘Hello Kitty’ themed birthday party. I mean, who doesn’t love the cutie kitty character, right? I’m sure many kids and adults even will be envious of you for having that cool and fantastic Hello Kitty filled celebration. =)
