I got to do what I LOVE a couple of weeks ago when I hosted a dozen of Jayden's friends for a
Sonic the Hedghog Birthday Party here at our house!
I will start with the decor pics:
I ordered the invitations like I always do off Etsy and I found a chalkboard background with Sonic on there which I loved!!
So I asked the seller if she could do a blue and white polka dot and yellow chevron band at the top and bottom. As you can see she came through. This gave me my palate for the party colors. It all came together beautifully!
Here is the Party Favor Bar.
Of course everything had to go with the theme: gummy hot dogs (Sonic LOVES chili cheese dogs), glow sticks to make gold ring bracelets, sonic stickers,
Blue gumballs and gold bead necklaces. And I found these adorable yellow lollipops which looked like Sonic's best friend Tails!
The boys filled up yellow bags and then held them
for the pinata candy.
I made gold rings for centerpieces out of dollar tree gold star balloon holders! Then I shoved them into a blue dixie cup and put ribbon and a chalkboard sticker over it with green grass paper crinkles. Every table had these.
The boys rotated through three games including pin the rings on Sonic. I made a paper bag pinata for $3 using a brown grocery sack, crepe paper, and a glue gun.
This has become my party tradition.
I couldn't find a Sonic cake so I had a skateboard one made since Sonic rides boards in Free Riders. I needed a really BIG cake and this one fed everyone and was delicious.
I took advantage of Sonic's Happy Hour and got every boy a blue slush for only 56 cents each. That was a big hit.
Even the snacks fit the theme.
On to the Party:
They had game stations.
Station One was in the kitchen with a remote controlled Sonic Freerider.
Station Two was in the living room with the Xbox Kinect Sonic Freerider game.
Station Three and Four were in the piano room:
Marshmallow Toss and Pin the Ring.
Isaac enjoyed leading the boys in group games: Chaos Emerald Hunt and Balloon Ring Stomp.
I put gold rings I bought in the wedding section at hobby lobby inside about 75 balloons. The older boys and billy dumped them over the stair railing while the boys went crazy popping them to get the rings. SOOO much fun.
Then it was time for cake, snacks, and slushes.
Then it was Pinata time! We hung it over the railing. The hanger broke, then the string broke...it was a hilarious. Poor Billy had to hold it at one point and got his wrist wacked. Ouch!
After that, Jayden opened his gifts.
His friends and family were so generous.

Grandma and Grandpa
This card was my favorite. It was from his asian classmate, "Jayden".
He drew a picture and wrote on the front to Jayden from Jayden.
Our gift to him was a Sonic shirt and converse hightops for the party plus a little Tails stuffed animal. Here he is with his other gifts:
