Isaac won an award at school for being a "Clever Coyote". They only issue 3 awards per grade level per semester, in 3 different categories. He was chosen out of over 50 children to win the award. The description is using problem solving skills, seeking knowledge, and exhibiting creativity. He slapped the Assistant principal (in green) a big high five and then received a stuffed coyote from his teacher (in red to his right). It was precious.
Then I took a photo of him in front of the "international tree". Every family at the school was given the option to contribute an ornament representing your child's culture.
The red tag on his says "USA-Transracial Adoption. Isaac is an African American who was adopted by his Caucasian parents as a toddler." There is a picture on it of our first Christmas as a family when he was two! He seemed very proud to be represented on the tree.
We went out to celebrate his accomplishment with icecream. They both gave thumbs up at the same time without being prompted. They are the biggest hams in front of the camera!

He does look proud as punch! Can you believe he's in school?? I have a friend whose daughter is Pre K next year, and she is freaking out!!!
Way to go Isaac!!
The tree looks neat. I'd love to see the ornaments and how the children are represented.
